If you’re a fan of Netflix’s popular dating series Love Is Blind and are interested in being part of the social experiment, now is your chance to find love in the pods!
I’m currently working at Kinetic Content, the production company behind Married At First Sight, Perfect Match, and Love Is Blind. Casting has officially begun and we’re calling singles in four major U.S. cities.
We’re seeking singles in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota; Phoenix, Arizona; Nashville, Tennessee; and Denver, Colorado. All applicants must live in the city where the season is filming.
What is Love Is Blind?
If you’ve been living under a rock since 2020, Love Is Blind has a unique premise: For 10 days, men and women go on speed dates, but here’s the kicker: They are unable to see one another. The participants are put into pods where they can relax, drink wine, and chat—all while not being able to have any physical interactions with their date.
When a participant decides they’ve found “The One,” they’ll propose sight unseen. Following the proposal, their fiancé/fiancée will finally be revealed. Then, they are whisked away on a tropical vacation together to see if they’re physical connection is as strong as their emotional connection. During this getaway, participants also meet the other engaged couples. Afterward, couples will move into an apartment together and meet each other’s families. On the day of the wedding, the couple meets at the altar to decide if love is truly blind. They’ll either say “I do” or walk away.

The application includes 71 questions. Start by filling out basic information including name, location, phone number, email, and your highest level of education. You’ll also be asked to reflect on some personal questions like your dating history, whether you want children in the future, why you think you’re single and what’s been missing from your previous relationships. Prospective pod-daters also have to provide three references.
Be prepared to upload a 15-second video explaining why “you’re ready to find love in the pods.” Please also submit your “best face photo” and a complete “body shot.”
How does the casting process work for “Love Is Blind”?
If you’re selected, a phone interview is the next step. Casting Associate Producers determine if you’re a fit for the experiment. Select participants will do an interview over Zoom with a Casting Producer. Background checks, psychological evaluations, and a compatibility questionnaire are also part of the casting process.
Head of Casting at Kinetic Content, Donna A. Driscoll notes that social media plays a big part in the decision-making process. “You can tell a lot about a person through the content on their social media, like their personality, their goals, and their interpersonal relationships,” she explained. “We look for a myriad of tells about who a person is on their social media, and we do outreach on a grassroots level everywhere.” Once her team finds someone to reach out to, the interview process begins. “The vetting consists of one phone call at the start, and then a Casting Producer interview via Zoom. They would sometimes do two or three of those; it all depends on the person.”
Driscoll acknowledged that the application process is long and can take up to five months, but she doesn’t want people who are considering applying to get discouraged by it.
Chelsea Griffin from Season 4 of Love Is Blind, has also joined the casting team at Kinetic and will be vetting applicants and moving them forward in the interview process.
What does the casting team look for?
Love Is Blind creator Chris Coelen said they look for people who are “genuinely interested in this kind of commitment.” Overall, Coelen wants “people who aren’t just doing it for the attention […] We wanted to be dealing with people who were genuinely interested in it.” Since Love Is Blind is about getting married at the end, it only makes sense to find people who are looking to get married as soon as possible.
When looking for potential participants, Driscoll added, “Well, for guys and girls alike, we’re always looking for people who are marriage-minded; and we don’t want players. You can tell that about somebody from the first phone conversation, usually, especially if you’ve been in casting for a long time for a reality or docuseries. You just have a good sense.”
The production company and the series creator are serious about finding people who want to get married and are looking for a long-term commitment. Their main concern is finding people who are seriously looking for love.
Driscoll added that an ideal participant should project earnestness. “I think that they’re genuine…and excited about the opportunity,” she explained. “If that can come across in some way, and if a lot of their answers lead with love.”
What are the best tips for getting on “Love Is Blind”?
Coelen said the key to choosing contestants is seeking out people who truly want to find love. “We picked participants, really, based on the feelings that they expressed and our judgment about whether or not they were really interested in exploring a lifelong relationship and/or getting married.”
Driscoll echoed, “Personality is huge, especially in an experiment like this,” she emphasized. “I know I sound repetitive, but I can’t say this enough: The most important detail to all of this is if they’re genuinely ready for a serious relationship and looking for a life partner.
